Recorded during a boat tour of the Halifax Harbor hosted by the interdisciplinary creative research group, Narratives In Space + Time (NiS+T), as part of the events in commemoration of the centenary of the Halifax Explosion. Matt Harrison and I were commissioned by NiS+T to create the audio composition (heard in the above video) which played on the boat ride exactly when passing through The Narrows where the historic collision occurred.
This video was recorded from my bedroom window in downtown Halifax. It uses the audio from an episode of CBC Ideas that featured conversations from the 2017 annual meeting of the International Council on Monuments and Sites which discussed the past, present and future of buildings in Halifax, and re-imagines the conversation as happening amongst the bird that hang out on the roof next door.
This video explores the weirdness that can accompany growing up in a military community. It was presented as part of a a group exhibition at The Think School in Japan in 2017. Viewers were encouraged to make their own videos using the window-side-view camera footage paired with inner monologue style text on screen.
